Call for Expressions of Interest

The City of Canning is seeking expressions of interest from artists wishing to helm the creation of a new work to be installed at the Riverton Leisureplex in 2017.
This work is to be suited to a large wall space in the swimming area that is visible to a cross section of the general public. The work will be created after a series of collaborative workshops with students from the Canning area.
The Riverton Leisureplex is situated on the corner of High and Riley Rds, the Leisureplex caters for the sporting, fitness and recreational needs of the City of Canning and its surrounding districts.
How to apply
The City of Canning will advertise the project to interested artists, via the local newspaper and other arts agencies. Any artist may submit expressions of interest in the project.
Please supply the following to
- 1-2 page cover letter describing, in plain language, why you are interested in this project, the type of work you create and initial ideas you may have (if any);
- A summary draft budget including a $10,000 artist’s fee and the likely production costs up to a further $5,000 in total. This budget should also identify and allocate funds toward any additional specialist expertise required to bring the project to fruition, to be included in the $10,000 production budget;
- Up to 10 images of relevant work, preferably supplied as a URL.
- A CV which includes your professional activities as an artist and your experience working with children and contact details for two referees.
