Shelley Beach Park
Shelley Beach Park is a popular location for residents and visitors.
Shelley Beach Park is an important community asset located on the Canning River, between Watersby Crescent and Beatrice Avenue in Shelley.
The park has wide open spaces and magnificent river and skyline views. It is a popular community destination and hosts many events, including:
- The Blessing of the River
- Australia Day celebrations
- New Year's Day fireworks.
The City invited the Canning community and visitors to let us know what they would like to see at Shelley Beach Park. All of the feedback has now been compiled and will be considered as part of the Shelley Beach Master Plan.
You can view the reports and project updates on the Your Say Canning website.
Shelley Beach Park Playground
The much-anticipated Shelley Beach Park Playground is now officially open, providing the community with a vibrant and exciting play space for children of all ages.
The playground features three distinct play areas, each designed to cater to different age groups. The playground includes engaging features such as
- a custom-designed Park Warrior course
- sensory play elements
- interactive structures.
The project was made possible through the generous support of Lotterywest, who contributed a $750,000 grant to the $2.2 million development. This funding supported several elements which included customised play structures, additional tree planting and shade elements across the play space.
There is something for everyone to enjoy!
