The City has developed three key strategic plans which outline the City's 10-year strategic and financial direction.
The Strategic Community Plan (SCP) and Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) were endorsed unanimously by Council in February 2022. The second iteration of the City’s Corporate Business Plan (CBP) has been endorsed in June 2024.
The suite of strategic plans were developed as part of the overarching Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, a State Government requirement outlined in the Local Government Reform Program.
The SCP guides the City’s goals and priorities, the CBP identifies the resourcing, projects, initiatives, and frameworks, and the LTFP outlines how financial resources are allocated to deliver the plans.
Community engagement that has informed the SCP and CBP was undertaken most recently through the Living in Canning survey with activations throughout November and December 2023.
