Work Experience
The City of Canning is pleased to provide work experience opportunities. We aim to accept requests where possible.
We have opportunities for:
- high school students needing a placement to complete their work experience hours
- university or TAFE students needing a placement to support their coursework
- those completing hours as part of their Lifeguard and Swimming Teacher qualification
- people living with a disability through their disability employment service provider.

Practical Pool Lifeguard Placements
We are now managing all Practical Pool Lifeguard Placements through our website, please register your interest and upload a cover letter to tell us why you would like to complete your training with the Canning Aquatics team.
Practical Swimming Teacher Placements
We are now managing all Practical Swimming Teacher Placements through our website, please register your interest and upload a cover letter to tell us why you would like to complete your training with Canning Swim School and complete the placement form attached to the application.
The City is pleased to receive a high-volume of requests. While we endeavour to accept as many requests as we can, a placement is not guaranteed.
