The City of Canning is proud to announce a program of free events and activities to celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).

From 28 November to 8 December, Canning residents can enjoy inclusive and engaging free activities that help to promote unity, understanding, and acceptance.

Our fun and inclusive free activities, open to everyone, showcase the diverse talents and abilities within our community. These include a Fit4All class, cycling, dancing, art workshops, and a silent disco, while people living with disability can enjoy free gym and aquatic access at our Leisureplexes for the entire week.

The IDPwD theme for 2024 is ‘Confident, Capable and Creative: Come with Me’, encouraging Western Australians to be more inclusive and empowering people with disability to participate meaningfully in all parts of society.

We call on City of Canning residents to collaborate and improve the world, by striving for a more equitable and just environment for people with disabilities. Together, let's raise awareness among our community about the challenges faced by people with disabilities. Let’s foster a more inclusive society, where everyone is celebrated and embraced.
