Green light for Queens Park Open Space!
A huge milestone was reached recently, as the tender for the Queens Park Open Space construction was approved by Council and awarded to Phase3 Landscape Construction Pty Ltd. And we are now working towards commencing construction in the New Year.
Upgrading these areas will transform Queens Park Open Space (QPOS) into a vibrant recreational and sporting hub. This enhancement will offer the community new and upgraded facilities, including two New Football Pitches, Cricket Facilities, including a wicket and enclosed practice nets. Play and Recreational Areas, featuring a pump track, half basketball court, and district-level playground, while also preserving the natural environment and promoting biodiversity. Additionally, the upgrades will enhance accessibility, inclusivity and connectivity with the SKFC, fostering a more cohesive and engaging community space.
This project has been made possible with the Australian Government contributing $5.3 million through the Priority Community Infrastructure Program.
