Sandra Park Rossmoyne - Dogs on-leash Consultation

The City is seeking comment from residents and park users on a proposal to change Sandra Park to a permanent dogs on-leash area.

The suburb of Rossmoyne has three dog on-leash parks (Central Park, Lions Park and Rossmoyne Park) and five off-leash parks (Creekview Park, Sandra Park, Massey Park, Ann Park and Fifth Park) as well as the Rossmoyne foreshore.

Currently the only on-leash park with a playground is Rossmoyne Park and feedback has been received that families would like to visit a playground in Rossmoyne where dogs must be kept on-leash. Due to this, at the Ordinary Council Meeting of 19 September 2023, Council resolved to engage with the community to determine support to change Sandra Park, Rossmoyne from off-leash to on-leash.

The community’s feedback will form a recommendation to Council to determine if Sandra Park will continue to be an off-leash park, or if it will change to an on-leash park.
