Youth Fest is back again with a splash for Youth Week!
The City of Canning is excited to announce the return of the Youth Fest pool party, a vibrant celebration dedicated to young people in our community, generously supported by the Department of Communities through the Youth Week WA 2025 Grants Program.
The last Youth Fest pool party was held in December 2023 which saw an amazing turnout of more than 450 young people.
Taking place on Saturday, 12 April 2025, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Cannington Leisureplex, this free event promises a cool evening of fun, entertainment, and opportunities for young people to connect. There will be a range of activities including a live DJ, a photobooth, water slides and pool inflatables and more.
Youth Fest is held in recognition of Youth Week and provides an opportunity for young people aged 12 to 17 years to engage with their peers, participate in exciting activities, and engage with our Youth Services team in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Youth Week WA 2025 is celebrated from 10 to 17 April with the theme 'Our Threads, This Place, Your Moment'. The theme, selected by the Youth Week WA Planning Committee, reflects young people's connection to the community and each other. Youth Week is Western Australia's biggest annual celebration of young people, recognising their valuable contributions and providing opportunities to express ideas, raise important issues, and connect with peers in their local communities.
Mayor Hall expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "Youth Fest is a fantastic opportunity for young people in our community to come together in a safe and welcoming space. We are committed to fostering a sense of belonging and connection, and this event is a testament to that commitment."
He continued, "We want to provide our youth with positive experiences that inspire them and encourage social engagement. With an exciting lineup of activities, Youth Fest pool party is set to be an unforgettable evening filled with fun and friendship."
Youth Fest is strictly drug, smoke, and alcohol-free, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all attendees. Registered Carers are more than welcome to join the celebration.
