Cannington Function Centre
The Cannington Leisureplex Function Centre is available for hire.
Located on the first floor, the Function Centre features:
- two function rooms (which can be opened to create one large space)
- two meeting rooms (which can be opened to create one large space)
- a commercial kitchen
- balconies
- pre-function area.
Bookings
To make a booking, please complete the application form (PDF 250KB) and email to bookings@canning.wa.gov.au. All bookings must adhere to the Booking Terms and Conditions.

Function rooms
The function rooms are suitable for large gatherings, meetings, and seminars. It has hosted weddings, birthday parties, hen's and buck's nights, engagement parties, and graduation celebrations. The rooms feature:
- large function space
- pre-function area
- large commercial kitchen
- meeting rooms
- balconies
- lift access to the function level.
Capacity:
- Function rooms combined – 300 sitting; 341 standing
- Function room 1 – 170 sitting; 190 standing
- Function room 2 – 130 sitting; 150 standing
Meeting rooms
The meeting rooms are suitable for seminars, meetings, courses, training, and other small events.
The rooms feature:
- variable lighting
- commercial kitchen
- balconies
- lift access.
Capacity:
- Meeting rooms combined – 80 sitting; 110 standing
- Meeting room 1 – 40 sitting; 55 standing
- Meeting room 2 – 40 sitting; 55 standing
Commercial kitchen
The kitchen incorporates commercial grade equipment catering for any event, large or small. The kitchen features:
- large commercial kitchen
- fully equipped facility with a bar and servery opening to the function room
- commercial ovens
- bain marie
- microwaves
- dishwasher and glass washer
- hotbox
- hotplates and grill
- bar and servery
- microwave ovens
- fridges and freezer
- urns.
Tables and chairs are included with the cost of the room. Available equipment includes:
- chairs (fabric) – 300
- tables (round) – 39
- trestle tables (rectangular) – 15
- digital interactive screens (meeting rooms only)
- a sound system
- microphone
- lectern
- display boards
- stage pieces
- a data projector and screen is available at an additional cost.

Standard rate
The standard rate applies to most bookings of the Function Centre.
Community rate
The community rate is for not-for-profit organisations or those with a certificate of incorporation. Please provide this to our bookings team with your booking application.
Function rate
Function bookings can be made for Friday and Saturday evenings from 5pm to 12am. The function rooms are also available for hire during the week subject to availability. These bookings will also include a bond subject to a booking officer's assessment.
Parking bays including accessible and seniors' parking bays. Please note parking cannot be guaranteed.
Our Centre is wheelchair accessible and has level access from car parks to main entrance and disabled toilets.
The Function Centre is accessible by lift or stairs.
