Children's Book Week 2024

Celebrate the Magic of Book Week in the City of Canning!

Canning Libraries will be participating in Children’s Book Week, an event supported by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA).

From Saturday 17 August to Friday 23 August 2024, we will celebrate a week of events planned to celebrate the joy of reading for children of all ages.

This year’s Book Week theme is Reading is Magic and we're celebrating reading stories and their amazing power to transport minds through books. Events include:

• Dreamtime story specials by Alton Walley
• Writing workshop by Ash Harrier
• Illustration workshop by Gabriel Evans
• Graphic novel design by James Foley
• Our well-loved Rhymes and Stories programs
