The City of Canning has plenty of parkland for your enjoyment and recreation.

This includes:

  • 204 passive green spaces
  • 21 sports parks
  • eight bushland sites.

Bentley

Bunning Park (Bunning Street and Stonehouse Crescent)
Passive parkland with play equipment and exercise equipment. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Chapman Park (Chapman Road and Ashburton Street)

Corona Park (Corona Crescent)

Dealy Park (Dealy Close)
Play equipment with wheelchair access from path, shelter and accessible water fountain. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Francis Bird Park (Station Street and James Street)
Passive parkland with play equipment and a drinking fountain. Approved dog exercise area.

Mason's Landing Park (Marriamup Street and River Road)
Access for people with disabilities with unisex accessible toilet, access paths, dual height barbecue and accessible drinking fountain. Facilities also include play equipment, toilets and shelter. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

War Memorial Park (Manning Road and Albany Highway)
A beautiful memorial to those who fought on our behalf. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Woodloes Museum Park (Homestead, Woodloes Street)
The heritage-listed Victorian homestead is staffed by the Canning Districts Historical Society Inc.

Woodloes Reserve (Woodloes Street)
The park surrounds the old Woodloes homestead museum, which nestles in lush gardens.

Whaleback Public Golf Course (Whaleback Avenue)
Green and sculpted 18-hole golf course in the middle of Parkwood which includes a two storey day and night driving range.

Willeri Park (Willeri Drive and Vellgrove Avenue)
Passive parkland. Approved dog exercise area. Please note that the fencing will not be upgraded at this time. Dogs could possibly escape through, or under sections of the fencing. It is the responsibility of dog owners to supervise and have effective control over their dog at all times.

The Shelley/Rossmoyne Foreshore is approximately nine kilometres long with play equipment, shelter, access for people with disabilities, a unisex accessible toilet, access paths along the foreshore, dual height barbecues, and an accessible drinking fountain. Please refer carefully to signage for locations where dogs are permitted to be off leash. The foreshore includes areas of native bushland, so please do not let your dog chase birds or other wildlife and remember to clean up after your dog.

Verton Park (Verton Drive and Parkbeach Close)

Bywater Way Canning River Gardens and Bywater Park (Bywater Way)
Passive parkland with play equipment, basketball court and access for people with disabilities by path to an accessible picnic table, play equipment, drinking fountain and the gazebo. Approved dog exercise area. This park includes areas of native bushland so please do not let your dog chase birds or other wildlife.

Canning River Gardens Walkway, Canning River Gardens

Centenary Park (between Centenary Avenue and Wendouree Road)

Fern Place Park (Fern Road and Fern Place)
Passive parkland. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Gledhill Park (Gledhill Way and Balbiri Close)
Passive parkland with play equipment and drinking fountain. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Hares Park (Hares Street and Armstrong Road)

Judy Pannell Park (Braibrise Road and Fern Road)
Passive parkland with play equipment and a drinking fountain. Approved dog exercise area.

Kent Street Weir Park (Kent Street and Queens Park Road)
Located on the river front, the park has access for people with disabilities via ACROD parking, public and unisex accessible toilets, dual height barbecue, picnic tables and shelter and a playground. The BMX Pump Track and Castledare miniature railway are nearby. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Langham Gardens (Langham Gardens and Brindley Street)
Passive parkland with play equipment and drinking fountain. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Margaret Park (Margaret Street and Fern Road)
Passive parkland with play equipment, a barbecue and basketball court. Approved dog exercise area.

Parkhill Park (Parkhill Way and Manning Road)
Passive parkland. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Thomas Moore Park (Braibrise and Armstrong Roads)
Play equipment, basketball courts, tennis court and drinking fountain. Approved dog exercise area, which is fenced. Please keep your dog off the playing field when games are in progress or teams are practicing and remember to clean up after your dog.

Volta Park (Volta Way and Wendouree Road)
Passive parkland. Dogs must be kept on-leash.

Wilson Park (Kent Street and Queens Park Road, next to Kent St Weir)
Passive parkland with ACROD parking, unisex toilets, drinking fountain and an approved dog exercise park which is fenced. Please note that pending the implementation of the Kent Street Weir Precinct Plan, the fencing at Wilson Park will not be upgraded at this time. Dogs could possibly escape through, or under the sections of the fencing. It is the responsibility of dog owners to supervise and have effective control over their dog at all times.
