Free Home Eco-Audits

Is your home too cold in winter and too hot in summer?

The City of Canning offers a limited number of Free Home Eco-Audits to Canning residents each financial year to help make your home more comfortable, save you money and reduce your carbon emissions.

The City has partnered with Green Services WA, who provide tailored advice on energy, water and waste valued at $250 to help make your home more energy efficient.

A home sustainability advisor will:

• check that your reticulation, hot water, fridges, pools and spas are working efficiently
• check appliance standby loads
• suggest improvements for heating and cooling
• provide tips and suggestions for future home modifications
• provide minor services such as cleaning your air conditioner filters
• provide and install eco hardware such as compost bins, soil improvers and electric throw blankets.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be residents, tenants or owner / occupiers in the City of Canning.
• Applications are invited all year round, however batches of Eco-Audits will only be promoted and carried out twice per financial year.

How to apply

Please email sustainability@canning.wa.gov.au with your:

• full name
• complete address
• phone number
• preference of an in-person or online appointment at your home.

You will be contacted by Brenda from Green Services WA, who will book your appointment and send you a one page ‘prep form’ to fill out. Please complete the form with your major appliances, as well as your electricity, gas and water bill data from the past year. If you have any difficulties completing the form, please call (08) 9840 9232.

If you miss out the first time, you’ll be contacted and offered a place in the future. Cancellations can be made at any time.
